Pear, Smoked Cheddar and Walnut Salad

Lay seasonal salad leaves on a plate.
Slice some smoked cheddar cheese and place on the leaves.
Cut a pear into slices, core and halve each slice and soak in lemon juice to prevent browning. Place the slices over the salad.
Scatter over a handful of roughly chopped walnuts.
Mix lemon juice and olive oil in equal parts and drizzle over the salad.
This is my entry for this month’s In the Bag event. How are you getting on with the challenge?

Someone's been playing with her new lens...! Looks great, Julia. Just my kind of salad!
If you could see my outstretched arms you would know how much I truly love salads with cheeses and nuts in them. Goat's cheese works really well with this too. I have to have this salad now. :)
Beautiful photography. This salad is fabulous.
Mmm I want to eat that salad now and not too many calories either.
looks fab! am working on my third attempt at a pear and hazelnut flourless cake with lemon syrup drizzled over the top...not 100% happy with results yet but will get there in time hopefully :)
All that needs is some crumbly blue cheese on top; am bad I know turning a perfectly healthy salad to an unhealthy one! :)
Yes, blue cheese would be my addition to! Julia, it looks fantastic. Such competition for In The Bag. I don't know how to top this.
What fantastic flavours here in your salad Julia! Your photos look very clear stunning photography.

Yum yum! Walnuts and pears is one of my favourite combinations. Very seasonal!

Pears and walnuts are such a fabulous combination in salads - I usually end up caramelising the nuts.
Switch the cheddar for stilton and the lemon juice in the dressing with balsamic vinegar. Accompany with a glass or two of pinot grigio...heaven!!!
YUM Looks like a winner to me!
Just my kind of salad... mmmmm! This month cooking bag is really appealing, too bad I will probably not have the time to through in something myself this month. I'll be looking forward to the roundup. Have fun on the pistes!
Hi Julia, I'm a smoked cheddar addict and this recipe will help me savor my cheese a little better. I know my sweet pears will work just great. Thanks!
